It’s time to swing to the syncopated sounds of the Satan’s Sweater Set Combo!

Golly, just listen to the rocking rhythm these hep cats are laying down! Bless my speckled yarn, they really have that boogie woogie sound. It’s too bad about the all-over weeping body rash they’re going to get later, but that’s what happens when you mix reefer madness with costume design.

For what it’s worth, I think they look positively swell in the asbestos/fiberglass blend. And aren’t skin grafts just part of the crazy, mixed-up scene the kids are into these days?

I can’t believe anyone conceived of a knitted peasant blouse! That is one amazin’ photo.

I particularly like the vomit-inspired colorways. Is it ok that I actually really like her boots?

OhMiGOSH! Your site is SOOOO funny!

I thought it was taboo to speak of those horrible knits of yesteryear. Kind of like that aunt nobody wanted to talk about – just don’t say anything; maybe she’ll go away.

    THANK YOU!!

Oh…ooohhh…I just read more (April timeframe). My face hurts from laughing and coworkers are peeking over their cubicles to see what’s going on. Brilliant!

  13. You laugh!

I used to do lots of costuming, and would haunt thrift stores for cool-looking fabrics. One time I found this gorgeous, shiny, off-white drapery, and made a gown out of it.

I wore it for less than an hour before I ran crying from the event and stripped in the bathroom.

I had made an asbestos-fiberglass dress. And worn it next to my skin.

I learned proper fiber identification shortly after that.

Hrm. Actually, if executed in more “appropriate” fibers, the skirt could be cool …

Wearing those outfits would be worse than chewing on tin-foil!

Thanks for making my day! I just received your book (I found it on amazon) and have been laughing ever since! I can’t wait to share it with my friends & family! Now I feel guilty for crocheting a “little red riding hood” for my 2-year-old daughter this Halloween. Even at 2 years, she has enough fashion sense to be embarrassed by it and she opted for the cheap store-bought polyester hood. Oh well! I guess I better stick to making sweaters for teddy bears and dolls. Tee Hee!

LOL. Luckily no one was here to see me choke on my coffee.
